It is our experience that marine diesel engine major spare parts need to be calibrated on a regular basis and at the time of undertaking routine maintenance and overhaul. The periodical inspection of the parts is recommended to avoid any major breakdown of the diesel engine and not to delay the movement of the vessel. The normal day-to-day maintenance of the diesel engine and troubleshooting is done by the engineers on board the vessel, but there are various maintenance tasks which require specialized services and cannot be executed by marine engineers on board the vessel as a routine. • Calibration of all major components by our technicians. This facilitates deciding whether the part is rejected for repair or can be repaired.
• Our inspection procedure also includes checking hardness and crack detection using dye penetrant tests and MPI.
• The surface finish of the crankpin and main journal is of critical nature, which is checked as per the manufacturer's requirement.
• An in-house facility is available to undertake the repair of all major components on site, including grinding and polishing of the crankshaft up to a diameter of 700 mm.
• Facilities for repair of broken parts in case of an accident and repair of cracks developed due to excessive heat generation by metal stitching and metal locking process.
• Availability of new and reconditioned spares for popular makes of engines and models.
• We have the facility of rebabbitting of old alternator and engine bearings. New bearings are also manufactured.
